APPLICATION OF A DIGITAL PORTFOLIO FOR TEACHER IN THE PARTICULAR EDUCATIONAL UNIT "IBEROAMERICANO"

Abstract

The present research work dealt with the implementation of a digital portfolio with the purpose of improving the handling of the information of the teachers of the Particular Educational Unit "Iberoamericano". To do this, the methodology focused on a mixed approach, because both quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments were used, these were: the observation form and the surveys directed at teachers; and the interview addressed to the vice-rector of the institution. In addition, the type of research used was: quasiexperimental, bibliographic and correlational. On the other hand, the platform used, as a tool for managing the information of the teaching portfolio, was Moodle since it was the most feasible to apply according to the characteristics of functionality, accessibility and usability. Before the implementation of this digital tool, teachers were trained on the use of software, and the authority in relation to the administration of the teaching portfolio; As a complement to the trainings, a user and administrator manual was delivered in digital format. After the intervention, the level of acceptance and use of the tool was evaluated. Also, an analysis of the pretest and post-test was carried out with respect to the implementation of the platform, in order to evaluate the improvement.
