Abstract

In this article, we have returned to the past through unpublished sources collected, classified and selected, which we transcribe in a detailed work in documentary archives. And that from the context of the so-called Revolution of 1851, we situate ourselves historically in the Chilean province of San Felipe de Aconcagua, to observe and reconstruct a remarkable episode of popular organization and subversion; The Assassination of San Felipe on November 5, 1850. This event marked the beginning of the outbreak of several liberal revolutionary uprisings during 1851, whose details, motivations and anecdotes will be approached from the perspective of Regional History.
