THE PIRATE IN ELIGIO ANCONA’S NOVEL
Abstract
The aim of this paper is analyze the pirate figure in Eligio Ancona’s historic novel El Filibustero (1864);
in the context of the social and political circumstances inside the Mexican Cultural universe generally
and the Peninsula of Yucatan particularly. The principal idea is precise the construction of that figure
in relationship whit the Social Emancipation between the Spanish Colonial and Liberal Social
republican ambiences.
