Abstract

This article reflects the intentions and interests of the students of the School of Education Sciences at the
Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Ecuador (Santo Domingo headquarters) are.
It was carried out a content analysis based on two questions: "Why I want to be a teacher?" And "What have
expectations of career education?" We interviewed all the students in the school; 68 students divided into eight
semesters anonymously, so they do not feel coerced in their responses.
The results show that students show a strong patriotic feeling and teaching vocation when choosing a career
education and their greater expectations are to acquire and transmit knowledge, while learning in the process of
formation.
