Abstract

The objective of this paper is to analyze the sources of generation of social added value of the savings and credit cooperatives of segments 1 and 2 of Ecuador, as well as the stakeholders participating in them. We start from the theory of stakeholders that integrates the need for cooperatives to relate to certain audiences, and that may affect or may be affected by the actions of cooperatives in their environment. To do this, the financial statements presented to the Superintendency of Popular and Solidarity Economy of 2016 and 2017 of segments 1 and 2 were used. An income classification was made to determine the main sources of value generated and subsequently the distribution of the income was analyzed. same to the stakeholders. Among the main results we have that more than 80% of the value generated in the two segements correspond to the interest for credits granted to the partners. And among the main beneficiaries of this value generated from segment I and II are the partners (37% and 42%), their collaborators (18% and 23%), the public administration (8% and 6.5%) and the surplus of the exercises (8% and 3%)
