EDUCATION AND ITS SEGMENTS IN EVIDENCE OF THE EDUCATIONAL POLICY CONTEXT

Abstract

This article aims to analyze and discuss education in its different historical contexts emphasizing its achievement as a social right as well as how educational policies act in the Brazilian scenario. For this, books and articles produced around this theme were analyzed. This paper did no t seek a historical analysis, but discussed the main events over the years, especially in the Brazilian scenario, which is the focus of this article. In this context this work qualifies as its nature as a qualitative research and in what concerns its objective as exploratory. On the theoretical basis, it was divided into three topics that highlight education as a commodity, the advances of public policies so that education becomes a social right and how educational policies are organized and administered in Brazil.
