The proposed research was developed through a mixed approach, and in turn, the quasi-experimental design was used; in addition, a defined group was used and the following instruments were applied; the pre-test and the teacher survey, for the collection of information, an intervention proposal was also made where four cognitive strategies were applied to improve the level of reading comprehension, ending with an evaluation of the results obtained from the proposal, Through the post test, where it could be noted that the methodology used by teachers for the development of learning in students is directly related to the skills they manage to develop. Therefore, the results of the research process allow us to conclude that cognitive learning strategies significantly improve students' level of reading comprehension.
