A LOOK AT THE BILINGUAL INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION OF THE NATIONALITY TSÁCHILA

This article aims to analyze intercultural bilingual education based on observation of teachers working in bilingual intercultural institutions of the City of Santo Domingo, during the academic period 2016-2017; Due to the fact that the need for teaching materials in the tsa'fiki language in the bilingual intercultural institutions located in communities of the Tsáchila nationality has been detected. The research approach is a mixed one and a non-experimental design is applied based on descriptive research. The instruments for collecting data are an observation sheet and a survey for teachers. Statistical tables are used to analyze the data to organize and display the data obtained with the instruments applied. The results obtained with the study, come to verify that there is a formative need in the teachers, therefore, this makes it difficult to create didactic materials in tsa'fiki language, that allow to improve the communication between teacher and students. In the conclusions, there are some factors that possibly explain the shortcomings and needs of bilingual intercultural teachers, in regard to didactic materials and the difficulties of communication through the language tsa'fiki.
