ANALYSIS OF THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE SOUTHEASTERN REGION OF MEXICO

An economic analysis of the South-Southeast Region of Mexico is carried out, given the challenge of taking advantage of the possible advantages that the economic and social policies of a new accumulation regime announced by the incoming government, to propose on which sectors the region could take advantage of its comparative advantages. The study is quantitative, incorporating elements that other studies have carried out to measure economic growth and regional competitiveness, using data of longitudinal cut of the Gross Domestic Product by federative entity at constant prices of the 2013. The income dimension, measured through GDP per capita, has not experienced great equalizing mobility. The main challenge of public policy is to achieve true regional economic integration, which translates into greater equality of income between federal entities and helps to recover the half-century advantage that the achievements in health and education equalizing mobility.
