Public childcare policies in Latin America: a gender analysis of its successes and difficulties

Public childcare policies play an important role in promoting women's participation in the workplace. Access to quality childcare services allows them to enter the labor market in a more active and equitable way, contributing to the economic autonomy of women and the reduction of gender gaps in the workplace.
Despite the importance of public child care policies, there are important challenges that must be addressed in Mexico, such as the logic of action in which our country operates, social programs are designed and implemented from a macro perspective, that is, under a With an accurate “diagnosis”, a proposal for action is made to benefit society. Based on the above, the aim is to analyze from a gender perspective the Public Policies on child care in Mexico, considering the Latin American context, as well as their instrumentalization.
