Abstract

Student retention measures are actions and (or) strategies developed by
educational institutions to ensure continuity and (or) successful completion of
studies by the student. Thus, the objective was to conduct an integrative
literature search to analyze student retention measures. A bibliographic survey
was conducted in December 2021 in the Periodicos CAPES and Google
Scholar databases. In the qualitative synthesis, were found 41 scientific papers.
49% spoke of financial and material support, 29,3% of educational support,
19,5% of digital support, 19,5% of research and extension, 17,1% of attention to
health (psychosocial support), 17,1% of symbolic support, 12,20% of multiprofessional support, 7,3% of inclusion and accessibility, 7,3% of multiprofessional tools, and 7,3% of physical structure. However, the
multidisciplinary teams serving students and other departments within the
institution need to develop a better balance of permanency measures.
