PROPOSITION OF A BUSINESS NETWORK COLLABORATION MODEL FOR THE SUSTAINABLE TRANSITION OF THE ELECTRIC POWER MATRIX
Abstract
The article proposes a model of collaboration in business networks capable of dealing with
paradoxical tensions in the sustainable transition of the electric energy matrix. A network-based
collaborative framework is presented as a way to improve the ability to deal with the paradoxical
tensions that emerge in the development of complex adaptive systems. Different actors, such as
representatives of the local government, electricity utilities, power generation companies (thermal,
wind and solar) and suppliers, face paradoxical tensions related to short- and long-term orientation,
stability versus change perspective and individual agenda versus collective. The model contributes
to the literature on the transition to sustainability by recognizing paradoxical tensions in its path and
by using business network theory and an integrative systems view to deal with the existing paradoxes
