CHALLENGES OF THE INTERAMERICAN PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR THE RIGHTS OF MIGRANT PERSONS IN SITUATION OF INTERSECTIONAL VULNERABILITIES AND THE AGENDA 2030 DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC: A NECESSARY CHANGE OF PARADIGM
Abstract
The proposed theme intends to analyze some challenges of the interamerican protection system for
migrant people in situations of intersectional vulnerabilities and of the 2030 Agenda during the
COVID-19 pandemic. The central problem is analyzed in a systematic way, based on bibliographic
research. Initially, general aspects of Human Mobility and systems for protecting the rights of migrant
people were addressed. Then, the definitions of migrant people in situations of intersctional
vulnerabilities were studied, especially with regard to the 2030 Agenda. Finally, a scenario of
challenges and the future of Human Mobility during the COVID-19 pandemic is presented. It was
possible to conclude that the interamerican protection system for the human rights of migrant people
is advancing in the formal sphere, however, regarding the realizatiton of these rights, there is still a
field of overcoming challenges, especially in times of pandemic, with a necessary paradigma change.
