CITIZENSHIP: A NOTION IN CONSTRUCTION BETWEEN LIBERALISM AND COMUNITARISMO
Abstract
This paper aims to discuss the issue of citizenship that is currently circumscribed in a liberal and communitarian
debate. First, explain historical and political citizenship, bases and its current constitution; subsequently, are
involved the concept, major elements as the plurality and community own the theoretical framework that is
recently thinking about rethinking citizenship from the plural and political action; Finally, some thoughts about
the debate between liberalism-individualism and communitarianism, the latter position, which criticizes the firstprovides timely discursive elements geared towards continuity of a theoretical construct citizenship.
