A LOOK AT THE THEORY OF KNOWLEDGE OF JEAN PIAGET, 20 YEARS AFTER THE ARRIVAL OF CONSTRUCTIVISM TO CHILEAN EDUCATION
Abstract
This review aims to give a glimpse of the theory of knowledge of the epistemologist Jean Piaget from some
commons misunderstandings and controversies over the role of the biological and the place of the stages
proposed by the author. Also briefly discuss some of the reviews that other authors performed to his work,
including L. Vygotsky, M. Merleau - Ponty and J. Lacan, in order to contribute to the discussion and the
tremendous heuristic potential of Piagetian work. Finally, I briefly analyze the place of the author in the Spanish
constructivism that was the basis for changes in the Chilean reform of the 90's and the place that
constructivism has in the Chilean Education today
