Abstract

The work develops a reflective study on the role of public relations for the social, economic and
cultural changes that we are experiencing in the world. From a practical philosophy, a qualitative
method is used, supported by a bibliographic review. This leads to an analysis and discussion about
the public relations situation and its future social role. The paper discusses the sociocultural function
of public relations in contemporary societies and its role in the face of new horizons. However, the
new communication strategies must focus on all the stakeholders involved in the economic and social
processes conditioned by Covid-19, by climate change and by other alterations that can reorder living
conditions.
