THE CHALLENGES OF GENDER EQUALITY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the importance of gender equality in contemporary society
and the impact that discrimination has against women both nationally and internationally. Likewise, it
is intended to clearly establish the institutional guidelines and strategies that have been implemented
worldwide to counteract the erosion caused by the constant violation of women's human rights and
the problems that this entails. To deepen gender equality as a necessary concept in contemporary
society, the concept of sustainable development will be used to analyze how gender equality has
become one of the objectives to achieve such sustainability. Finally, some resolutions of the InterAmerican Court of Human Rights and the Mexican Supreme Court that have promoted gender
equality in their resolutions will be briefly analyzed.
