DIGITAL SKILLS OF TEACHERS: KEY PILLARS FOR A QUALITY VIRTUAL EDUCATION IN THE FACE OF PANDEMIC IN ECUADOR
Abstract
The purpose of this study was focused on promoting digital skills in teachers such as:
Computerization and information literacy, communication and preparation of digital content, security
in the Internet system, and problem solving through teacher training in digital applications. At present,
education is in a great digital challenge and even more so with the appearance of the pandemic, this
has forced teachers to train in an accelerated way, since the vast majority of educators do not have
consequence of direct observation in teachers by identifying that the level of mastery of digital tools
and resources is minimal, the reason on which this study focuses. The methodology is based on a
quantitative approach, quasi-experimental design, the type of research is descriptive and explanatory,
for data collection a survey is carried out at the beginning and after, after applying the proposal. The
results obtained show an advance in the domain of digital competences in a complementary and not
fragmented way, fundamental capacities to meet the current educational demand.
