HAZARDOUS WASTES FROM THE AGROCHEMICAL INDUSTRIES IN VENEZUELA: VISUALIZING PREVENTION KEYS. SYSTEMATIC SUMMARY REVIEW
Abstract
This article has aims to objective identify existing studies on preventive culture in hazardous waste
management in agrochemical industries in the last 15 years. A review of national and international
literature on studies, using metasearh data bases and gray literature. The review was carried out in
4 phases. Through Excel, the information was collected in a database that was used to process it
through descriptive statistics, the search was carried out using as inclusion criteria: works of the last
15 years, in Spanish, English and Portuguese, Latin American and European languages and
published articles and / or doctoral or master thesis. The search yielded a total review of 709
documents, were excluded in a first phase 693 documents, leaving 16 documents for review, the
country with the largest number of articles was Mexico, which contributed 31% of the material studied,
also 50% of the selected studies were bibliographic reviews and within the keywords, the most
frequently used was hazardous wastes. The documents analyzed in Latin America and those from
Europe (Spain), show that, about the preventive culture in the management of hazardous wastes in
the agrochemical industries, studies have focused on the management of wastes or residues and its
effects on the environment and health. Other aspects such as the risk control in the management of
agrochemical wastes occupy a less relevant place in the studies found. Likewise, the lack of
information predominates where both variables are interwoven, preventive culture and agrochemical
wastes.
