PROCESSES OF INDUCTION OF BEGINNING TEACHERS IN THE BASIC SCHOOL: A REVIEW

Abstract

The objective of the presente study was to carry out an integrative review of the literature on
processes of induction of teachers beginning in elementary school, a review in order to map advances
and gaps in this area of knowledge. introduçãoThe professional induction is a time on which the
teacher gives his first steps in his career, moving from student to teacher. It is a moment of doubts
and tensions, some of the main problems for the removal of teachers at the beginning are low salaries,
problems with student discipline, lack of support and few opportunities for decision-making.It was
carried out a literature survey in December 2020, in the CAPES and Google Scholar databases. The
descriptors used were as follows: ‘’Teacher Education” AND ‘’ Teaching Induction” AND ‘’Professional
Development” AND ‘’School Trainers” AND ‘’Teaching Profession”. 40% of the 10 articles talked
about professional induction, its importance for teachers at the beginning of their careers, 40% of the
articles presented national, international programs and initiatives aimed at professional induction, and
20% of the articles brings a reflection on mentoring as form of support for the pre-service teacher.
