Abstract

The present investigation identifies and analyzes the pertinent information for the elaboration and commercialization of a back position corrector for vehicle drivers, as an alternative to the existing posture correctors available in the market that are oriented to the everyday or work use, the potential consumers were identify in a Segmentation Study built from the information in the INEC's Transport Statistics Yearbook, from this is important to know that the number of private cars in the city of Ambato in 2013 is 49,779; in 2014 it is 52,252; with this data a projection was made up to the year 2.018 with a growth rate of the automotive sector (6.3%) and we would have a projected value of 66.717 vehicles. The back position corrector demand has been identified through the tests that eventually would be the potential market where the 51% suffered from back pain, 10% leg pain, 13% arm pain, 19% headache and 7% neck when driving your vehicle. Analysing of the offer of other correctors of posture in the city of Ambato, it was determined that it comes up to 1,152 units per year, in addition it was identified that the average price of each back corrector is up to $ 42, giving us an offer of $49,536.
