This research attempts to frame elements related to the world of work from the perspective of the workers (as) of an agrochemical company. We inquired about the occupation of free time and the self-perception of health, viewed from a preventive perspective. The form of work organization was considered, characterized by the availability of a wide space of free time. A quantitative study was carried out with the support of a qualitative approach. 84 workers participated in the study. A questionnaire was applied and the information was complemented with an in-depth interview. The results revealed that the most frequent extra-work activities are those of a personal nature; for both sexes, the free time they have is broad and they perceive it as an important benefit, even if they do not give it proper use. 88% of workers consider that there is no relationship between perceived health discomfort and working in their free time. It was concluded that the workers do not give greater significance to the good use of time, for the use of it. Likewise, a preventive environment for workers seeks excellence in the quality of working life and good use of free time is part of this and is based on the commitment and participation of all. The preventive culture aims to promote and improve the quality of life of workers.
