ANALYSIS OF THE FACT-CHECKING INITIATIVES IN SPAIN

The proliferation of fake news has generated a social movement, and both institutions and the media have been added to the pursuit of these contents. Among the actions undertaken are projects aimed at fact-checking, consisting of reviewing and checking statements or data, certifying the veracity of the figures and the contents expressed. Spain has also armed itself against the fake news, different media and platforms have joined the initiatives that have pr continents. In this research, the most relevant will be selected, those collected by the Reporters' Lab of Duke University, an updated web space in which, through a map, it geographically locates the fact-checking initiatives existing in the world. The selection criteria used for the delimitation of the sample were the means or verification projects active in Spain, a total of four: "El Objetivo", Maldita.es, "La Chistera" (El Confidencia) and Polétika. The case study will be carried out, for which an analysis sheet will be used in which the following aspects will be observed: foundation, professionals, support, financing, responsible for verification, thematic, selection of information, sources used and method used in the verification. The objective is to investigate the efforts that these platforms have undertaken to stop the fake news, with the intention of knowing its procedure and its effectiveness.
