Abstract

We present some of our observations about early rock art of the Marañon in the province of Utcubamba (Amazonas-Peru), discussing its style, antiquity, and potential to elucidate narratives related to daily life and subsistence activities related to hunting, fishing, and gathering described by the inhabitants of this area, likely since the early Holocene. We also include in this discussion the representation of certain objects related to these activities.
