The aim of this study is to provide detailed information on the recent clinical diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), specifically highlighting advancements as well as areas for improvement. A documentary research methodology was employed, in which 16 scientific articles published in the Americas that exclusively dealt with the clinical diagnosis of ASD, based on the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), were selected and analyzed. The qualitative findings indicate that the majority of scientific publications related to the clinical diagnosis of ASD are conducted in the United States, with early-age diagnosis being the most studied topic.
