The general objective of this paper is to analyze the opinion speech of the written press before the triumph of the coalition integrated by National Action Party (PAN) and Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) in the 2016 elections for governor in Durango (Mexico). It is based on the premise that in electoral processes, discourse magnifies its presence and influence on the recipients of messages. This characteristic of the action of the media linked to the social relevance of the event represented by the alternation in power for the first time in the history of Durango, determined the justification in the choice of topic. Through the methodology of discourse analysis a corpus of research was integrated into five journalistic texts corresponding to the opinion expressed after the protest took the so-called "First Governor of Alternation” and an analysis model was built based on three categories: coincidences, differences and specificities.
