BUSINESS CAPABILITIES AND COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE IN HOTEL COMPANIES. CASE STUDY IN HOTELS IN PALENQUE, CHIAPAS

The purpose of this research is to understand and define the business capabilities that generate competitiveadvantages forhotelcompaniesinPalenque,Chiapas. Thestudy was carried out following a qualitative approach, a cross-sectional interpretative and deductive method, through a case study. Two companies participated, whose criteria for studying them was that they had at least ten years of operation and that they were local companies. Questionnaires with semi-structured questions and observation guides were used, interviews with managers and a focus group were applied. The analysis was carried out with the support of the Atlas ti. S. 4.8.24. The results indicate that the entrepreneurial skills that are practiced in these companies are related to their permanence in the market, since their collaborators showed commitment to their work, their company, and their clients. The identified capacities contribute to achieving competitive advantages in the local hotel market.
